Mallorca 8-Day Cycling Holiday

October 11-19, 2025

Building off our decade of annual Spring Cycling trips, we are hosting our 2nd annual FALL cycling holiday to the beautiful Island of Mallorca. This will be an 8 day adventure beginning on Oct 11 and wrapping up on Oct 19th. We will be staying at the 4 star Hotel Rei del Mediterrani Palace in Playa de Muro near Alcudia, in the north end of Mallorca. The hotel is located about 400m away from one of the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca, the Playa de Muro and directly accessible to explore the north and east of Mallorca by bike. The monastery Lluc, Arta, the fishing village Porto Petro and Cape Formentor are all within reach. The hotel offers American styled double occupancy rooms with a balcony and views of the Mediterranean. Facilities include an indoor pool, sauna with relaxation room, an attractive lobby and several cozy bars. The extensive modern spa includes massages, body treatments, waxing, manicures and pedicures, facials, sauna and Turkish bath.

Ride, shop, walk, it is all right at your doorstep.

Cycling on the island is nothing but the best and most spectacular we have ever seen anywhere in the Mediterranean. The weather is almost sure to be better than home with 300 sun-drenched Mediterranean days per year and typical temperatures above 70 degrees in the fall. You will get a rider’s-eye view of the incredible mountains, fertile valleys, and tranquil turquoise waters as you ride picturesque training roads such as Sa Calobra, Puig Major and Cape Forementor. You will have the choice of daily guided rides of 30, 60 and 85 miles with incredible views in every direction including flat riding, rolling hills to great climbs and descents… it is like riding a Gran Fondo every day!  So, make plans for the most rewarding and memorable trip of your life! … the trip of a lifetime! All levels of cycling experience can enjoy this spectacular venue! And if you do not cycle or do not want to everyday, there are tons of places to visit and things to do; there is something for everyone!

DAILY ITINERARIES

The focus of our trips is to build your base miles for the coming cycling season or utilize all of the training you have done at the end of the seaon. As a result, our rides are focused on the physical dimension and not the sightseeing, so we anticipate that all guests will have a good level of physical ability and be sufficiently prepared to comfortably ride a variety of challenging terrain. Each morning you'll begin your ride between around 9:45 AM and return sometime between 3-4 PM depending on the length of the ride and your ability level. There is no follow vehicle, so you will need to carry appropriate layers and food for your ride. Once you return to the hotel, the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish.

  • This Cycling Camp is suitable for all levels of riders.

Level D | Cappuccino: I’m relatively fit and am comfortable with hills that are less than half a mile in length. I want to ride on my vacation, but not necessarily every day. I can maintain an average speed of 10-14 mph.

Level C | Plausch: I ride my bike on a regular basis either for fitness, to commute to work, or just for fun. I enjoy an active lifestyle with an occasional physical challenge. I can maintain an average speed of 14-16 mph.

Level B | Hobby: Fitness is central to my life. I ride my bike regularly on a weekly basis and am comfortable with rides of 3-4 hours or more at a relatively strong pace. I can maintain an average speed of 16-22 mph.

Level A | Tour: I ride my bike an average of 200 miles per week and enjoy a fast pace for an extended period of time. I love to train, improve, and consider myself an Advanced (A) rider. I can maintain an average speed of 20-25mph.

  • Averages are based on Level D and Level A totals

    AVERAGE DAILY MILEAGE: 30 - 60 miles

    TOTAL MILES (8 DAYS): 180 - 450 miles

    AVERAGE DAILY ELEVATION: 800 - 4,000 feet

    TOTAL ELEVATION 8 DAYS): 5,000 - 20,000 feet

  • The terrain is consistently rolling, with quiet, narrow, and winding roads, very little of it is flat. Although the ascents are not exceptionally steep, they are often upwards of three miles long and there are multiple climbs each day.

See the itinerary for specific daily ride distances and elevation options. On all of our cycling holidays, Parvilla Travel seeks to find quiet, paved secondary roads or bike paths to experience a region; busy roads are avoided as much as possible. Our itineraries are an approximation of our trips. Parvilla Travel strives to offer every guest the vacation of a lifetime on every trip. At times routes listed may change at the discretion of the guides to improve the trip experience.

  • Guides will be with each group every day. There is vehicle support in the event of an emergency at the discretion of the guide. There is no follow car so you carry what you need. But with the support of the guide and the others in your group, you are never far from a flat assist or a boost up that final climb.

  • On our Mallorca cycling trips, the fall brings much warmer temperatures in 70F-75F with evening temperatures dropping 5-10 degrees cooler. But being an island, Mallorcan weather can be unpredictable at times and the island can experience odd rain showers and coastal winds. It is advisable to bring warm layers and also rain gear.

A detailed Event Road Book is sent out to all guests when their reservation is confirmed.

  • The Spanish tend to eat much later and spend more time dining compared to other Europeans and North Americans. Lunch can start between 1:30 – 2:30 pm and last an hour and a half or longer. Dinner can start between 8:00 – 9:00 pm and can last an hour or longer. It is common to enjoy conversation, coffee, or drinks after a meal, known as sobremesa in Spanish.

  • On most Parvilla Travel trips, there are plenty of non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or travel companions who want to spend little or no time in the saddle. Non-riders are welcome on all of our trips. There are plenty of activities for the non cyclists, some of these activities have additional costs and can be arranged through the hotel's concierge. Some non-riding options on this trip are:

    • Savor local flavor and tradition on local winery tours

    • Hike in the dramatic Tramuntana mountains

    • Swim in the crystal blue Mediterranean

    • Golf

    • Explore medieval villages of the Tramuntana coast

    • Explore Palma and all of its shops and restaurants

    • Go to the beach!!
