Mallorca 9-Day Cycling Holiday

April 25-May 3, 2026

Updated Feb 2, 2026

— General Itinerary

  1. The trip is primarily for cycling but for those of you that would like to do some swimming or running as well, the hotel we are staying at has two outdoor pools. In addition, there is an Olympic Pool just around the corner that you can walk to.  We are also very close to the beach, but you will need a wet suit for the sea as it is not yet warm. Just remember we are on the island to ride our bikes so do not overdo it doing other things.

  2. There are no follow cars and no short-cuts on the rides we do and without a guide you will have difficulty getting home without getting lost, so it is important to pace yourself. You can change groups from day to day if you want to vary your intensity (discuss with your guide if you want to go up a level).

  3.  All rides with a guide require an 8 Euro ticket/day. You will need 5 tickets in total if you ride every day; they can be purchased all at once at check-in or daily and are given to your guide during the lunch break. You can purchase the tickets with cash or credit card. Tickets not used can be fully refunded.

  4. You have the choice to be in one of 4 guided groups based on your cycling ability. These were outlined in the application. Be familiar with the names. You also have to option to download a route and ride on your own and be a “Tourist”. Please note that all E-bikes are in the Easy Rider group unless directed otherwise by a guide.

  5. Routes/daily destinations shown below may change based on weather or at the guides discretion.

  6. Routes are provided using www.ridewithgps.com. The routes are available to download for review but please understand that regardless of these posted routes, you must FOLLOW THE GUIDE at all times as routes can change. We do not recommend using the turn-by-turn feature when riding with a guide.

Shuttle service to the hotel at the south end of the island is provided by an independent carrier hired by our hosts, Rompelberg Cycling Holidays (RCH). The shuttle service does NOT work for the hotel. It will not be immediate. You may have to wait for a while. Your shuttle pickup time and location are here in the Road Book under Shuttle Schedule. Look for others in your group – hint, they will be speaking English. If you are significantly delayed and late arriving, it will not be possible for the shuttle to wait just for you when required, I will authorize you to get a taxi, the hotel is approx. 15 minutes from the airport and costs about 20 Euro. Keep your receipt, you will be reimbursed.

If you choose to take a taxi and skip out on waiting for your shuttle without authorization, you will not be reimbursed.

Almost everyone will be arriving between mid-morning to early evening and checking into the Playa de Palma Suites and Spa. Rooms are reserved under your individual names. You will be greeted by one of our staff in the lobby so keep an eye out for them, they will be wearing something that says PARVILLA TRAVEL.

At the Suites and Spa, money is not used at the bars or in the dining room. Everything is billed to your room which will require that you provide a credit card at checking in. If you are sharing a room with a friend, you can split any room charges you have at check out.

Registration and bike pick-up may be available from 3-6pm for those that arrive early. If you arrive after 5pm, bike pick-up will be immediately after breakfast on Sunday. We will explain where the office and bike garage are located when we greet you at check-in.

 — Day 2 - Sunday, April 26 – Shake Out Ride

A large buffet breakfast awaits every morning starting at 7:30am in the dining room. Juice and coffee are included. Do NOT bring water bottles to breakfast or dinner. It is highly frowned upon. Please do not wear your cycling clothing to breakfast. You will see others do it, however, we would like to set an example and look a bit more orderly and wear street clothes. Walking shorts for men are fine at breakfast, long pants for men are required at dinner.

Registration and bike pick-up will begin after breakfast around 9:00am at the Rompelberg (RCH) office for those still needing to collect their bikes.

Bicycles must be kept in the bike garage when not in use. Locks are required to secure the bikes which will be given to you when you get your bike. DO NOT LOSE THE KEY. Bicycles are NOT allowed in the hotel lobby, pool area or your hotel rooms for any reason. Cycling shoes are not to be worn inside the hotel as they can damage the floors.

11:00am – There will be a short welcome meeting to go over a few details followed by a shake-out ride for our group to Calipi. It will be leave once everyone has their bikes.
